Introduction
Hey there 👋
This is where you can find all the systems that I’m currently using, the parts inside of them, the peripherals that I use alongside them, their purposes, and (hopefully) the links for where to find those parts should you want to use what I’m currently using 😌
Systems
At the moment, I currently have two separate computers which I use for different purposes, however I have had previous systems that are worth mentioning. Those are:
Mid 2012 13” MacBook Pro
- This system is currently out of commission and under consideration of replacement.
2021 16” MacBook Pro
- This system was sold due to not being used nearly as much as it should have been. Along with this the ARM architecture felt restrictive and as such, I am looking to replace this with an x86 machine instead
- Custom built PC
- Custom built Server
I’ll list each of their individual specs below for those that are more interested however, the main functions of each machine are as follows:
13” MacBook - Test bed system for learning/testing before deploying software and changes to the full server itself. Currently running Ubuntu Server 23.04.3 LTS but subject to change
- This system is currently out of commission and under consideration of replacement.
16” MacBook - Coding/learning machine. It’s very much overkill for what I use it for at the moment, but this allows for room to grow
- This system was sold due to not being used nearly as much as it should have been. Along with this the ARM architecture felt restrictive and as such, I am looking to replace this with an x86 machine instead
- Custom built PC - Mostly gaming, I also have Linux installed on this as I’m trying to migrate to Linux gaming, but I also use Linux for programming and SysAdmin work
- Custom built Server - Home server running Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS. This currently hosts: Jellyfin, Minecraft server, Discord bot, home filesharing/semi-NAS.

Peripherals
I have used a wide range of peripherals and I believe that what I currently have will be my most constant and consistent set up for the foreseeable future. There are still upgrades that I am planning on getting, however I will list previous peripherals that I’ve used and would still recommend.
Mouse
Current:
- Logitech G Pro x Superlight - 800dpi | 1000Hz
- Razer Cobra Pro - 800dpi | 1000Hz (8000Hz possible)
- Corsair Scimitar Wireless - 800dpi | 1000Hz
- Corsair Scimitar - 800dpi | 1000Hz
- Logitech G840 K/DA Edition
Previous:
- Cyborg R.A.T 9 - Had two of these, both receivers died within 6 months. Mouse was also incredibly heavy and not comfortable.
- Razer Naga 2012 - Developed horrible sensor issues and number cluster became squishy.
- Logitech G500 - Placeholder mouse whilst my Naga was broken. Surprisingly comfy and played well.
- Razer Deathadder Chroma 2014 - No outright engineering issues with this mouse, however the size and shape never fit my hand so always felt uncomfortable to play with.
- Zowie EC1-A - This was gifted at the height of my CS:GO days. I’d read all the pros were using Zowie and tried to follow suit. The mouse itself was flawless, however the size was a little bit on the larger side for my tastes.
- Corsair Scimitar - One of my most favourite MMO mouses I’ve ever used. The shape was very round and relaxed, and the side buttons were perfectly placed. This was only replaced after around 5 years due to the right click starting to fail.
- Xtrfy M4 - Incredible mouse. I still have this and intend to find a use for it because the unique shape fits my hand incredibly well. Incredible sensor, fantastically balanced, and I even considered upgrading to the wireless version over the G Pro x Superlight.
- Steelseries Aerox 9 - This worked flawlessly for the first few months of ownership, after which the scroll wheel started behaving erratically. Software updates and force restarts did not repair the issue so it was returned for a refund.
- Steelseries Diablo 3 mousepad - First actual mousepad for my PC. I still have this.
- Steelseries QcK Heavy - Purchased during my CS:GO days.
- Aukey ‘Deskpad’ - Purchased during an Amazon Black Friday sale to stop using two individual mousepads and use one large one.
