Introduction
Hey there 👋
This is where you can find all the systems that I’m currently using, the parts inside of them, the peripherals that I use alongside them, their purposes, and (hopefully) the links for where to find those parts should you want to use what I’m currently using 😌
Systems
At the moment, I currently have four separate systems which I use for different purposes, however I have had previous systems that are worth mentioning. Those are:
- Mid 2012 13” MacBook Pro
- This system is no longer in use.
- 2021 16” MacBook Pro
- This system was sold due to not being used nearly as much as it should have been. Along with this the ARM architecture felt restrictive.
- Dell Latitude 7410
- Asus Vivobook X512DA
- Custom built PC
- Custom built Server
I’ll list each of their individual specs below for those that are more interested however, the main functions of each machine are as follows:
- 13” MacBook - Test bed system for learning/testing before deploying software and changes to the full server itself. Previously running Ubuntu Server 23.04.3 LTS
- This system is no longer in use.
- 16” MacBook - Coding/learning machine. It’s very much overkill for what I use it for at the moment, but this allows for room to grow
- This system was sold due to not being used nearly as much as it should have been. Along with this the ARM architecture felt restrictive.
- Dell Latitude 7410 - A personal linux laptop to replace the previous 16” MacBook, used to learn scripting, SysAdmin work, networking etc.
- Asus Vivobook X512DA - An old laptop from my mum, now repurposed as a home server to run a VPN, AdGuard DNS filtering, and a TeamSpeak server
- Custom built PC - Mostly gaming, I also have Linux installed on this as I’m trying to migrate to Linux gaming, but I also use Linux for programming and SysAdmin work
- Custom built Server - Home server running Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS.
- This currently hosts: Jellyfin, Minecraft server, home filesharing/semi-NAS, and a myriad of docker containers including my personal website.
